Road Trip: Lai Chau Province
Traveled from Hanoi to Lai Chau Province today to begin my volunteer work. The bus ride to Lai Chau took approx 8 hours but the scenery was amazing so it was time well spent. Lai Châu province is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Vietnam, and it shares a border with China. Lai Châu has long been the poorest province in Vietnam. Upon arrival I was greeted by our small team of 5. We will be traveling together across the Lai Chau province evaluating the children for surgery. They reported that they had a very productive week in Dien Bien province where they screened 500 children and scheduled 120 for surgery. For more photos click on READ MORE.
It looks beautiful, Bob! Thank you for sharing the photos and an update on your adventure! Be safe
ReplyDeleteThe country-side is so beautiful, and the interior of the bus is like "first class". My wife would have loved it. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteBob,
ReplyDeleteThank you for inviting me to the CSVN Team. The scenery looks amazing, and I can only assume that the people of Vietnam are even more special.
Travel safe, and I am looking forward to reading more about your trip.
